The Seamstress - Figurative Paintings inspired by Grigorescu

Oil on canvas, 15cm x 25 cm
After I got an album of Nicolae Grigorescu I was impressed by lights and colors he used on his paintings, however no album can be compared with originals exposed in museum's galleries.

Looking to understand his art, I made a series of paintings inspired by Nicolae Grigorescu, three of them exposed on this blog.

Harvest, oil painting

Oil on canvas, 20 cm x 30 cm
I painted it in oil colors on canvas, being inspired by Vicent Van Gogh, whom I admired for his vivacious determination for arts.

Impressionism Influences - The Miss with Red Umbrella

Oil on canvas, 27 cm x 42 cm
Is painted in the same time with "Young Lady on the Cliff" and with the recommendation of my wife to add more summer flowers as it was my first intention and to color the umbrella in red. The effects are great.

Impressionism Influences - Study for Street in late November

Oil on canvas, 40 cm x 30 cm

Actually on this small painting I was trying to catch  on canvas the atmosphere of a foggy November evening when all shop windows on boulevard are lit up and the trees still have plenty of red and gold leaves despite that everyone seems to do shopping for the coming winter holiday season.
